I am heading to NYC for a month! Plz send reccs...

Hello and happy beginning of September, aka the unofficial beginning of fall! ;)

I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend and a nice last bit of August! August was absolutely insane for me! I spent all of it in Idaho, having so much fun running around Boise and McCall.

If you happen to need some ideas of things to do in and around Boise or McCall in the next few months, check out this reel and this reel.

Because Jack and I are heading to NYC at the end of September, we decided to purposefully spend August and September at home. In case you missed me talking about our 1-month "move" to NYC, you can read more about it below.

And if you have any recommendations for things to eat, drink, or do in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, please send them my way (you can reply to this email, and it will come to my inbox)!

Over Labor Day weekend, we went to Pocatello, Idaho, to cheer on my Mother-in-Law as she ran her last marathon at age 74! She's so impressive and even got first place in her age group!

Plus, we got to check out a few new-to-me spots in Pocatello, so I'm working on a blog post soon.

Next weekend, I'll be heading to the 1st Annual Teton Yoga Festival in Victor, Idaho, and then will spend a few days in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to feature a brand new hotel. I'm so excited for that!

I'll be documenting all of this on my socials below. I wanted to thank you all for 28K followers on Instagram and 4K on TikTok!!! Woot Woot!

Spud Spotlight

I wanted to share some of the things I'm loving right now!

  • Jack and I listened to Seth Rogan's memoir, Yearbook, on audio while on a few road trips this summer and were laughing our asses off the entire time.
  • Speaking of audiobooks, I also just finished Essentialism by Greg McKeown, and it was life-changing. It's a quick listen, but there are so many good nuggets about focusing on what's essential and saying "no" to rest. My favorite part was when he talked about deciding if an opportunity or experience is a 'no' or a 'yes.' If you're confused about what to say and you have been presented with an opportunity, he says that to figure out if the answer is a 'no' or 'yes,' ask yourself, "If I didn't have this opportunity, what would I be willing to do to acquire it." if the answer is "not much," then the answer is a no. If you'd do a lot to acquire it, then it's a yes! I love that and have been implementing it a lot lately.
  • I did a product empty haul on TikTok recently with all of my favorite empty products that I'll buy again and won't buy again if you're interested in that type of thing!
  • Abercrombie has some of the cutest stuff right now! I got this trench, these cargo pants, these high-rise relaxed jeans, and these tailored pants for my fall wardrobe. I hope they all work out!
  • If you're a Boise local, you have to go get a massage with Debbie at Dsquared Bodywork; tell her I sent you! I usually get the 90 minutes, and she's just better and better each time I go. I also love going to Candace at Bare Esthetics for facials and sugaring.
  • I just tried the F45 workout for the first time! We got one in downtown Boise, and it's so fun. I think it's my new workout obsession!
  • Most of my clothing lately has come from the NUULY clothing rental, and usually, if someone asks me where something is from, it's from there. I have a $20 off code if you want to try via this link!

In case you missed it, we are "Moving" to New York City

At the end of September, my husband Jack and I are going to "move" to New York City!

For those of you new here, Jack and I currently reside in Boise, Idaho. We will still live in Boise full-time but are experimenting with living in NYC for 1 month!

In NYC, we'll be living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and I'm obsessed with this neighborhood! I've had a few friends live there and have explored it quite a bit, so I can't wait! We both work remotely so are going to move into an Airbnb to enjoy fall in the city.

You may be wondering why we are doing this. And no, we aren't planning on moving there full-time or anything. A lot of people have asked me this—although part of me wishes we were lol. The real reason is that both of us have always wanted to live in NYC, and neither of us ever got the opportunity. So, we thought we'd do a little digital nomad vibe in NYC...why not? We don't have kids or pets and aren't tied down by our jobs, so we thought it was now or never!

If you want to follow along in real time, be sure to follow my Instagram and Tiktok pages! I'll be documenting as much of the experience as possible over there!

Thanks for being here!

Best,

Katie

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! It's been a whirlwind few months, and I haven't gotten around to a newsletter, but wanted to send one with some of my favorite things below so you don't miss this Black Friday! Jack and I are officially home from spending 37 New York City!! We had a blast and went to 7 Broadway shows, a Jets game (T-Swift was there), Stephen Colbert, Comedy Cellar, endless food, and great drinks. Hello! Wow, I'm so excited to be back after a long hiatus (3 years to be exact) since I've sent a newsletter! You might be wondering, "Why this sudden newsletter?" I've got news!! A few days ago I officially took the leap to become a travel + lifestyle content creator full-time! Beforehand, I was working on my marketing consulting business and working with tech companies while sustaining the blog on the side. In mid-July, all of the stars aligned and my last client had to get rid of all of...
